Despite its slightly bulky appearance, the McDonnell F-4 Phantom II had a top speed more than twice the speed of sound, leading some to observe that it represented "the triumph of thrust over aerodynamics." The much-loved twinjet served in the first line of more Western air forces than any other jet after it entered service in 1961. This artifact is a genuine engine blade from a General Electric J79 turbojet engine that powered an F-4 Phantom II. It has been cleaned and polished and placed on a specially crafted aluminum base that has been powder-coated for a matte black finish. The Custom Hangar logo is laser-etched on the underside, and a Certificate of Authenticity is included. Actual engine blade may vary slightly from photograph.
