McDonnell Douglas produced more than 976 DC-9 twin-engine jetliners between 1965 and 1982, including 47 C-9 aircraft for military customers. An estimated 2 to 3 billion passengers flew on DC-9s over the course of nearly 50 years of service. This artifact is a genuine DC-9 Pratt & Whitney JT8D engine inlet cowl that was removed from the aircraft, stripped of paint, and polished in multiple steps to achieve a mirror finish. A custom-cut piece of half-inch-thick glass forms the tabletop and provides a clear view of the spinner and rotor blades. A Certificate of Authenticity is included. Measures 21.5"H x 50" in diameter at tabletop. Weighs 284 lb. Made in USA. *NOTE: This artifact is sold as is, with no guarantee that parts maintain original function. Not for flight use.*This item will incur additional shipping/handling charges after ordering. We will contact you to make arrangements.
