The 757 ecoDemonstrator was part of an ongoing Boeing-industry program to find ways to improve commercial airliners' environmental performance by reducing emissions and noise and enhancing fuel and aerodynamic efficiency. The 757 ecoDemonstrator completed its work in 2015 and is now being recycled using environmental best practices. This artifact is a wall hanging made from the door that covered the 757's ram air turbine, a propeller that generates emergency power from airflow generated by the airplane's speed. The aluminum door has been cleaned and smoothed, but the original paint details have been preserved. Hanging hardware has been attached to the back side, and a Custom Hangar plaque and Certificate of Authenticity are included. Measures 52"L x 24"H x 2.5"D. Weighs 21 lb.
